Comments
Wet loose avalanche on south facing slope. Wednesday April 26, heavy fog and light rain in the morning at 1700m, clear skies and rising temps throughout the day, 3pm witnessed a size 2-3 that stepped down to a deep layer. Our group watched it go, slow moving but very powerful.Plenty of movement on the south facing aspects, but also many smaller slides and pinwheeling observed on every relatively steep aspect. After observing a few slides and and feeling the sloppiness of the snow during a mellow tour, we decided to spend the day building a pump/jump track in a more sheltered zone. When the conditions don’t cooperate there’s lots else to do in the mountains. Build a jump, build a snowman, chase a squirrel.
