- Description
- A party of three ice climbers were attempting a difficult ice climbing route on the east face of Howse Peak in Banff National Park. The accident is believed to have occurred on the descent. All three climbers were caught in the avalanche and died. Due to the technical nature of the terrain and unfavourable weather conditions, the victim’s bodies were not recovered until April 21. This is a preliminary report and will be updated when more information is available.
